A Pirate's Life For Me

He y'all or should I say hello me hardies. Guess what! I am a pirate. My second week here my roommate, my friend (you know who you are ;)), and I went to Magic Kingdom to play!!. We went straight to adventure land and as we searched an adventure of our own we found the Captain Jack Sparrow Pirate Tutorial! It began with a few little kids learning how to sword fight from the captain and then he picked a select few to become pirates in his crew. My roommate and I were chosen for obvious reasons haha and we were sworn into the crew, I even got a scroll proving I am a pirate. argggggg!!! But truly the best part was that everyone else becoming pirates were have my size.

With Pirate Awesomeness and love,

Pirate Jen

Hey Howdy Ho Y'all!!!

Hi there this is Cow girl Jen posting from beautiful Orlando Florida! I have been here since the 27th of April and have been too busy to post before now. Luckily today is my day off so I have plenty of time to post before I go play in the parks!!!
To quickly catch y'all up My journey here began with 2 flights to get to my sister's house in Kentucky. I spent an amazing Easter Sunday there before mounting my trusty steed (Sunny the Sunfire) and embarking a nine hour drive to Georgia to see my brother and his family. While there I saw my niece and nephews and played like crazy. I hadn't seen my brother in almost a year so I am really glad to now be living only 4 hours away from him instead of 4 days away.
Arriving in Orlando Florida of course I made a wrong turn on my way to check into my apartment. I always prided myself in have a great sense of direction. Then I got here and I swear anytime I drive I get lost. But it's okay cuz mama said the best way to know where you're going is to get lost getting there. So I finally get to check in and to my very first APARTMENT!!!!!!! I was the first of my roommates to arrive so I quickly snagged the biggest room which also has the bigger bathroom and huge walk in closet!!! For those of you who know how messy I can be (haha mom, cecily) just picture how much room there is for my stuff to be scattered all over the floor and still I can walk around without stepping on things. Also it helps that my roommate is just as messy as I am so I don't feel so bad for my side of clutter.
Our first day we went to casting to get our finger prints in the system and from there I started the long process of training for this program and my specific job. I had about 2 weeks of training and am now working like any other person in my location. I work 5 days a week which leaves plenty of time for sleep and play!!! My location theme is cowboys and cowgirls, hence the hey howdy ho y'all. The minute I get to work I put on a little western southern cowboyish accent and use it to both the guests and cast members. At first I would make myself do the accent, but it has since become second nature and I don't think I have ever used the word howdy quite so much before in my life.
To finish off this first post I will tell you of how my training prepared me for ALMOST everything. My job allows me to have a number of positions in one shift. I could be on counter, trash duty, bussing, and as I found out last week, animal chaser! i was in the dining room bussing and smiling of course and I hear people start making various noises of distress and discomfort. I look over to find a white bird the size of a toaster running through the dining room! I had to get him outside so I began chasing him towards the door. So please try to picture in your mind me in my costume sneaking up behind a bird and chasing him towards the door! I finally got him out and it was then that I felt the eyes of at least 30 guests on me. I knew they were all laughing at me either out loud or in their minds so as to keep the show going I bowed and said "There you go folks! Dinner and a show! I trained the bird myself! I received a glorious round of applause and praise form many of the surrounding guests. If you know me you know my love for a spotlight. I came here looking for some performance opportunities, this wasn't what I was expecting at all. haha.
Well time to go clean my room, take out the trash, and play! Ta Ta for now!

Sincerely,

Cowgirl Jen

P.s. 10 points to anyone who spotted the reference to Footloose the musical.
